Job Description: Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly qualified Safety Manager to oversee our safety programs and ensure compliance with all required regulations. The ideal candidate must have OSHA 30-hour training in either General industry safety class or construction industry safety class as well as a 40-hour Contract Safety awareness course certificate, and a minimum of 5 years of continuous construction or general industry safety experience.

As Safety Manager, you will be responsible for implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting safety training programs, and performing safety audits. You will also be responsible for investigating accidents and incidents, tracking safety metrics, and recommending corrective actions to prevent future incidents.

To be successful in this role, you must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with management and employees at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all required regulations.
  • Conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, annual refresher training, and job-specific training.
  • Perform safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
  • Track safety metrics and report results to management.
  • Coordinate with management and employees to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.

Requirements:

  • OSHA 30-hour training in either General industry safety class or Construction industry safety class certificate.
  • 40-hour Contract Safety awareness Course certificate.
  • Proven 5 years of continuous construction or general industry safety experience.
  • A past work experience in US Army Corps of Engineers’ projects is an added value.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with management and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
